1. Labor Warranty
Unless a different warranty is stated in writing on the applicable invoice, eligible repair labor performed by Morton’s Mechanical LLC is warranted for 90 days or 10,000 miles from the date and mileage shown on the final invoice, whichever occurs first.
This warranty applies to defects in the workmanship of the specific repair originally performed by Morton’s Mechanical. It does not guarantee that unrelated vehicle components will not fail during the warranty period.
2. Parts Warranty
Parts supplied by Morton’s Mechanical may be covered by a manufacturer, distributor, or supplier warranty. The length and terms of a parts warranty vary by part and supplier. When applicable, the specific parts warranty may be listed on the estimate or invoice.
A manufacturer or supplier parts warranty is provided by that manufacturer or supplier and is subject to its rules, exclusions, proof requirements, and replacement procedures. Morton’s Mechanical will reasonably assist with an eligible parts-warranty claim for a part we supplied.
3. Customer-Supplied Parts
Customer-supplied parts are not warranted by Morton’s Mechanical. We do not guarantee their quality, fitment, completeness, compatibility, durability, or performance. If a customer-supplied part is defective, incorrect, fails, or causes additional work, removal, diagnosis, reinstallation, or replacement labor may be charged to the customer.
Any labor warranty involving a customer-supplied part applies only to our workmanship and does not cover failure caused by the supplied part itself.
4. What the Labor Warranty Covers
If an eligible repair is determined to have failed because of defective workmanship by Morton’s Mechanical during the applicable warranty period, our primary obligation is to correct the warranted workmanship at no additional labor charge for the covered correction.
Warranty coverage is limited to the original authorized repair and the reasonable work necessary to correct a verified workmanship issue. Additional or unrelated repairs remain the customer’s responsibility.
5. What Is Not Covered
This warranty does not cover:
- Normal wear and maintenance items unless the failure is directly caused by covered workmanship.
- Failures of components that were not repaired or replaced as part of the original service.
- Pre-existing damage, corrosion, rust, deterioration, contamination, or prior improper repairs.
- Damage caused by overheating, lack of oil or fluids, improper maintenance, misuse, abuse, racing, overloading, collision, road hazards, weather, flooding, fire, theft, vandalism, or other outside causes.
- Damage caused by continuing to operate a vehicle after a warning light, abnormal noise, overheating condition, low-fluid warning, loss of oil pressure, or other indication that continued operation may cause damage.
- Aftermarket modifications, tuning, non-original configurations, or other changes that contribute to the failure.
- Customer-supplied parts or defects caused by those parts.
- Diagnostic conclusions when the original symptom is intermittent, cannot be duplicated, changes after testing, or is caused by more than one underlying problem, unless the issue results from our failure to exercise reasonable care.
- Incidental or consequential expenses such as towing, rental vehicles, lost wages, lost business, lodging, travel, storage, or loss of vehicle use, except where required by applicable law.
6. Maintenance and Follow-Up Requirements
The customer must follow reasonable maintenance requirements and any instructions provided with the repair. If a repair requires a recheck, retorque, fluid inspection, break-in procedure, alignment, programming step, or other follow-up service, failure to complete that requirement may affect warranty coverage when it contributes to the claimed failure.
7. Making a Warranty Claim
Contact Morton’s Mechanical LLC as soon as reasonably possible after noticing a suspected warranty issue. Please provide the customer name, vehicle information, original invoice or work-order information if available, current mileage, and a description of the problem.
Morton’s Mechanical must be given a reasonable opportunity to inspect and diagnose the vehicle before another repair facility alters or repairs the claimed warranted work. Emergency circumstances will be considered individually.
8. Warranty Inspection
A warranty claim is not automatically approved because a similar symptom returns. The vehicle may need to be inspected or diagnosed to determine whether the condition is related to the original repair, a defective part, a different component, or another cause.
If the inspection determines that the concern is not covered by this warranty, normal diagnostic, travel, parts, and labor charges may apply.
9. Warranty Remedy
For a valid workmanship claim, Morton’s Mechanical may, at its option and as appropriate to the circumstances, reperform the covered labor, repair the affected work, or provide another remedy required by applicable law. Parts claims remain subject to the applicable manufacturer or supplier warranty when the failure is a parts defect rather than a workmanship defect.
10. No Unauthorized Reimbursement
Do not authorize another repair facility to perform work for which reimbursement is expected from Morton’s Mechanical without first obtaining approval from Morton’s Mechanical, except when immediate action is reasonably necessary to protect persons or property. Unauthorized third-party repairs may prevent us from verifying the cause of failure and may not be reimbursable.
11. Legal Rights
This warranty gives customers contractual warranty protections in addition to any rights that may apply under state or federal law. Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or limit a right or remedy that cannot legally be excluded or limited.
